Job Description

Operations Manager (for Process Equipment) – Job Profile Job aim Managing and controlling operation of all plants and related activities for achieving production and operational targets as per company’s business plan Standard Duties & Responsibilities 1 Plan and prepare annual Operation budget taking company’s business plan into account and submit to VP Operations for review and approval 2 Plan and manage the plants’ resources and scheduling of work to meet agreed production targets in the most efficient manner 3 Monitor and control operation of the plants to effectively meet established standard of quality and productivity; optimize, implement and successfully manage production efficiency 4 Ensure adequate supplies of raw materials and consumable are made available for the plants to meet production targets 5 Analyze and implement process flow improvements, to include capabilities for growth Develop and implement lean manufacturing process optimizing production attaining cost efficiency. 6 Develop and oversee implementation and administration of department policies, systems, and procedures. 7 Ensure that Maintenance Department is aware of any repairs or maintenance needs so that downtime on machinery is kept as minimum as possible 8 Determine optimum staffing model for the department. 9 Recruit , monitor, and train subordinates to develop production skills and ensure that production and quality targets are achieved 10 Ensure that all production activities meet both internal company standard, ISO 9001:2000 and external regulatory requirements with respect to quality of production, occupational health and safety of employees and ensure that company`s obligations and policies in these areas are fully complied with. 11 Ensure fair and equitable administration of collective agreements to promote good employee relations 12 Conduct periodical performance evaluation of subordinates and take appropriate measures for supplying deficiencies and achieving greater productivity 13 Report regularly to Vice President, Operation on all aspects of production and administration of plant activities Qualification : University degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering) Experience & Skills : o 10+years of solid experience - Operations Manager/Production Manager, especially those with solid experience in Manufacturing (Steel fabrication of Structural steel, Power Transmission towers, telecommunication towers, and predominantly process equipment such as Pressure Vessel, Heat Exchanger, Reactor, Column, Industrial Piping etc. o Knowledge of manufacturing process – knowledge of statistical process control and lean manufacturing methods (Advanced) o Managerial and leadership skills (Delegation and people management) o Strategic thinking and decision making skills o Proven competence in plant management, designing and implementing technical solutions o Adept technically for efficiently handling manufacturing operaions and related activities o Proven experience in operational analysis and re-engineering / re-structuring operational process. o Developing and implementing operational policies and procedures o Proficiency in designing and implementing cost management, resources management, increased productivity, and operational efficiency. o Proven competence in applying lean manufacturing methods and processes o An effective communicator with methodical and logical thinking o Highly motivated team player with excellent analytical, decision-making and organizational skills o Proven record in setting up plant and machinery, and steadily developing them for high level manufacturing operation o Capable of working in efficiently in a highly demanding situation, under tight schedules and deadlines o Advanced problem solving skills o Human relation and team-building skills o Adaptability to change; compliance management; customer focus o Commitment to quality o Technology awareness o Production planning and management skills o Proven success with efficient production line organization and output improvement (Advanced) o Proven history of successful goal setting, achievement, and employee management (Advanced) o Excellent performance appraisal skill (Advanced) o Management reporting skill (Advanced) o Computer proficiency
