• Manage all quality activities related to surface preparation and coating inspections.
• Reports to QA/QC Engineer for day to day inspection activities
• Review fabrication drawings to understand coating inspection requirements.
• Ensure approved Inspection and Test Plan is adhered during all stages of fabrication.
• Check the correct usage of paint systems and ensure identification and traceability of all material.
• Conduct surface preparation and coating inspection as per the ITP.
• Conduct the applicable tests before, during and after coating as per ITP
• Ensure qualified blasters and coating applicators are engaged for the jobs.
• Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing. Prepare the daily quality reports and submit to QA/QC Engineer on daily basis.
• Ensure the inspection and testing instruments are calibrated and calibration certificates are available.
• Inform to QA/QC Engineer about all the non-conformances observed in the shop floor.
• Ensure latest drawings, ITP, Coating procedures and related documents are available in the shop floor.
• Ensure that the surface preparation and coating inspections are offered on time as per ITP and be a single point contact for Coating Inspection Co-ordination within the Company.
• Planning of shop inspection activities in advance for inspections related to customer witness and Inform QA/QC Engineer to notify the client once internal inspection is satisfactorily completed.
• Coordinate with production department for day to day blasting and painting activities to ensure that inspections are done in time
• Prepare and maintain quality documents/records for the final documentation to ensure that the product is delivered with manufacturing data book in accordance with contractual terms / company policies.
• Coordinate with coating manufacturers and arrange trainings to the painters and blasters in collaboration with HR and production.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
• ITI or Diploma in Chemical/Coating/Mechanical Engineering minimum and Certified Painting inspector NACE level 2 or Certified Painting inspector CSWIP-BGAS Painting Inspector Grade 2
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Must have English written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of coating inspection and testing instruments
• Minimum knowledge on different coating systems
• Shall be thoroughly familiar to read & understand fabrication drawings, Client specifications and Codes and Standards.
• Shall be conversant with Coating acceptance criteria.
• Shall be able to read and understand ITP & Coating Procedures
• Shall be able to prepare coating inspection reports
