• Reports to QA/QC Engineer daily NDT activities
• Ensure latest drawings, ITP, NDT and PMI procedures are available before carrying out inspections.
• Review fabrication drawings, ITP, NDT and PMI procedures to understand NDT and PMI inspection requirements.
• Carryout NDT and PMI as and when required.
• Ensure that NDT and PMI equipment are Calibrated and initiate the calibration request before the Calibration validity expires.
• Ensure that results are accurately reported in the NDT and PMI reports.
• Coordinate with NDT agencies and arrange NDT inspections as per ITP
• Prepare the NDT request and ensure that NDT inspections are carried out on time.
• Communicate to production department for repair details when there are rejections.
• Assist to prepare the weld history logs in coordination with fabrication and QA/QC Inspector
• Plan the NDT activities in advance and inform QA/QC Engineer to notify client wherever applicable as per ITP.
• Inform to QA/QC Engineer about all the non-conformances observed in the shop floor.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
• Diploma / ITI minimum.
• ASNT Level II in PT, MT, UT, RT and PMI training certificate (preferable)
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Must have written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Working knowledge of NDT and PMI equipment is required.
• Experience in NDT and PMI inspection is required.
• Shall be thoroughly familiar to read & understand fabrication drawings, GA drawings, piping isometric drawings.
• Experience in coordination with external NDT agencies to arrange the NDT inspections.
• Shall be familiar with construction codes and standards
• Shall be experienced to interpret the NDT results.
• Shall be able to read and understand ITP & WPS.
