Description Performance Indicators Extraction & Production • Tests validity of minerable resources. Includes conducting preliminary surveys of mineral deposits with geologists to determine the feasibility of ore extraction. Determines the most suitable methods of ore extraction taking account of such factors as depth of over-burden, altitude and physical characteristics of deposits and surrounding strata. ? Production capacities against available recourses. Planning • Organizes and supervises all outside process test works. Carries out all designs of optimum pits to ensure extraction of ore with minimum operation cost and strip ratio. Prepare bench plans and ore haulage using Surpac and AutoCad software. Prepare daily, monthly and yearly production schedules. Develops yearly production schedules and requirements for budget estimates. ? Production capacities against available recourses. Infrastructure • Verifies recovery process. Consults with geologists and other engineers on the design, selection and provision of machines, facilities and systems for mining, infrastructure such as access roads, water and power supplies, and protection or restoration of the environment. ? Infrastructure fee4sabiolity against production plans verified. 4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (continued): Description Performance Indicators Controls and expenditure • Estimates capital and operating viability. Prepares operation and project estimates and controls expenditure when mines come into production. Participates in negotiation for purchase or investment of new or existing mines. ? Controls according to set plans. Environment • Analyzes environmental sensitivities such as process being used, waste, chemicals, environmental/cultural, geo-political sensitivities. ? Benchmarks done and measured. Operating resources • Ensures the availability of operating resources i.e. people, supplies and equipment. Includes planning and coordinating the utilization of labor and equipment consistent with efficiency, statutory, safety and environmental conditions. ? Match resources against productions planned and reached. Reports • Analyses and compiles monthly and yearly statistical production reports for Management’s review, comment and information. ? As per set timing and intervals for reports to be tabled. HSE • Assists in ensuring adherence to the company's Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) programs, policies and procedures. Monitors and audits activities, providing guidance and measures to alleviate unsafe or damaging work practices. Investigates and provides recommendations or responses to incidents in the assigned work area. Ensures that contractors working under his control are fully briefed on the company's HSE regulations. ? Against HSE Rules and regulations. Production environment • Monitors and maintains 24 hour operation of products in the production environment. • Liaison with all parties to ensure manufacturing remains lean and clean ? Monitors progress and assures constant progress through following full process and acts upon mishaps. Times production is not on par. Admin • Handles system administrative duties for production and non-production systems ? Admin done as per instructions. New Processes • Development and establishment of new manufacturing process ? New processes tabled for approval. New equipment • Advises on the procurement and commissioning of new capital equipment including developing new floor ? As per set KPI’s for commissioning. 5. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Regular contacts at own and next higher level within the department and with Ma’aden personnel at the Mine sites regarding mine design, planning, production and analysis. 6. JOB RELEVANT INFORMATION (BOUNDARIES & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY): Determines work methods from alternative existing methods in accordance with established policies and professional standards. Completed assignments and process reviews are subject to further review prior to implementation. 7. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering. 6 years’ experience in mining engineering, including mine operations experience in differing mine styles. • Very good knowledge of English. 8.
