POSITION TITLE : Proposals Manager (relevant discipline: Onshore & Offshore Construction, New Build – Marine, Process, Fabrication) REPORTS TO : Group Proposals Manager POSITION PURPOSE : The Lamprell Proposals Group functions must continually produce compliant, professional and competitive proposals in a timely manner to clients and continue to succeed in negotiating and closing out desired contract awards. The Proposals Manager is responsible for all tendering functions within their relevant discipline or as directed by the Group Proposals manager from time to time. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Management of the relevant Proposals discipline, including preparation and issue of all company response to client tenders, expressions of interest and pre-qualification requests. • Review of Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents analysing and accurately assessing all ITT requirements. • Informing the Group Proposals Manager and Group Commercial Manager of all major tenders received and advising them, with documented, structured and well thought out reasoning, on the recommendations to either progress with, or decline to bid relevant tenders. • Identifying initial project risks on all relevant tenders prior to proceeding bid activities. • Establishing and implementing a strategy, both internally and with the client, where required, for all relevant major tenders including discussing and agreeing strategies with major vendors / suppliers beneficial to the tender process and exploring alternative solutions, all to enhance Lamprell opportunities for securing work. • Prioritisation of estimating and proposals workload within the relevant discipline. • Setting appropriate on cost mark-ups to be applied to company estimates, prior to review by the Group Proposals Manager. • Close liaison with the Group Proposals Manager and Marketing Department to maximise existing business relationships and to pursue and nurture new business opportunities. • Documenting and filing, in an organised manner, of all relevant tender correspondence and data. • Preparing reports for Lamprell Management as and when required. • Adhering to all compliance and auditing requirements for the conduct of ethical and transparent operations including the compliance to all Lamprell policies, guidelines and procedures. • Complying with Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and compliance with all audits and inspections. • Fulfil the duties of a Senior Proposals Engineer as and when required. Intelligence Able to deal proactively with estimation and proposals issues Analytical Excellent interpersonal skills 4. Aptitudes Sound teamwork within an oil and gas, marine or similar engineering background Leadership qualities – Lead by example 5.
